A Legacy of Leadership and Innovation
Maria Mambo Café (1945-2013) was an extraordinary figure in Angola's history. With an economics degree from the former Soviet Union, she broke barriers by becoming one of the first women to hold high positions in the Angolan government.
As deputy prime minister for economic affairs in the 1980s, she played a crucial role in rebuilding the country during and after the civil war, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic vision.
Maria Mambo Café dedicated her life to development and education, with Angolan youth being her biggest investment. Her commitment to educating future generations was manifested through sponsoring the education of various young people and children, both in Angola and abroad.
Today, her legacy lives on through the Maria Mambo Café Social Project, created on the 10th anniversary of her death. The project perpetuates her vision of development through education and empowerment of Angolan youth.
